The Returning Officer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election in Benue State, Senator George Akume, on Saturday evening announced the affirmation of President Muhammadu Buhari with a total vote of 259,130 cast by party faithfuls in the state.
Akume while announcing the result of the exercise at a press conference held at his residence in Makurdi, said, the votes were earned by the sole candidature of Buhari in all 23 Local Government Areas of the state with the total of 349, 715 registered members of the party across LGAs.
He added that the massive turnout of the party members to vote in the presidential primary election showed that the APC is a grassroots movement in the state and indication that the sky would be its limit in the 2019 election.
“We are confident that with this massive turnout, the sky is the limit for our party in Benue state. People of Benue state are prepared to same thing in 2019,” he said.
The APC had carried out the exercise in the state on Friday.
